A few months after the death in Madrid of Maestro Rodrigo on July 6, 1999, the Victoria and Joaquín Rodrigo Foundation was founded in order to set up and preserve the Victoria and Joaquín Rodrigo Archive, whose contents have been constantly consulted by numerous researchers from Spain and abroad in recent years.

The Foundation was the dream of Victoria Kamhi, the wife and long-time collaborator of Joaquín Rodrigo. Victoria, who died on July 21, 1997, did not live to see her wishes fulfilled, however her project was launched two years later by Cecilia, the only child of the Rodrigo’s, and President of the Foundation which is named for her parents.

The Foundation facilitates access to the immensely rich and varied documentary material contained in the archive.

Making use of this invaluable legacy, the Foundation carries out an important cultural task that includes the organisation of exhibitions and a complete computer service enabling rapid access to its reserves.

The Rodrigo Foundation is located in Madrid at the same address as Ediciones Joaquín Rodrigo, on Calle General Yagüe 11.
