1991		Knight of the Royal Order of Santa María del Puig (Valencia). Silver Seal of the city of Valencia. Guerrero Foundation Prize for Spanish Music in its first edition. Awarded hereditary title of nobility Marqués de los Jardines de Aranjuez, (Marquis of the Gardens of Aranjuez) by King Juan Carlos I.  Worldwide celebration of his 90th birthday.
1992		Awarded the Order of Félix Varela, First Degree, by the Cuban government. Academician of Honor, Royal Academy of Valencian Culture.  Filming of the documentary "Shadows & Lights. Joaquín Rodrigo at 90", directed by Larry Weinstein of Rhombus Media, Canada.

1998		The French government names him Commendeur des Arts et des Lettres. Prize for Best Composer of Classical Music, SGAE and AIE. Medal of Honor of UIMP, International University Menéndez Pelayo, Santander.
1999		Birth of his second granddaughter, Cecilia, January 31. Gold Medal Festival of Granada. Death of Joaquín Rodrigo July 6 in Madrid. Buried in the family vault in the cemetery of Aranjuez.
