(by Diagonal TV! / Planeta de Música) Synopsis: Joaquín Rodrigo, the composer who became an emblem of 20th century music, was born on November 22, 1901 in Sagunto, Spain. The 100th anniversary of that event offers a good opportunity to examine the artistic dimension of the composer of the famous Concierto de Aranjuez. The documentary reveals Rodrigo's creative process and the influence on his work of figures such as the painter Sorolla, the Maestro Manuel de Falla or the pianist Victoria Kamhi, Rodrigo's wife. The film reviews the biography of this universal Spaniard and Valencian, with a sound track of Rodrigo's music accompanying the narration. |
