1950 Elected Full Member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, Madrid.

1951 World premiere of Sonatas de Castilla, for piano, by the composer himself for his investiture ceremony as Full Member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, Madrid, on November 18.

1952 Creation of the Manuel de Falla Chair of Music, Complutense University of Madrid. Joaquín Rodrigo is named Professor and holds the position until 1978.  First Prize in the National Competition for Retablo de Navidad.

1953 Awarded the Great Cross of Alfonso X el Sabio. Composes Soleriana, for chamber orchestra.

1954 Vice-President of the Spanish Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (SCIM). Composes Tres piezas españolas, for guitar, dedicated to Andrés Segovia.

1955 Premiere of the ballet Pavana Real, with libretto by Victoria Kamhi, in the Gran Teatro del Liceo, Barcelona, on December 17.

1956 World Premiere of Concierto serenata, for harp and orchestra, by the National Orchestra of Spain, conducted by Paul Klecki, with soloist Nicanor Zabaleta on November 9.

1957 Composes Música para un jardín for a documentary on the Retiro Park of Madrid which won First  Prize for Cinema. 

1958 Premiere of Fantasía para un gentilhombre in San Francisco, California, by the San Francisco Symphony, conducted by Enrique Jordá, with soloist Andrés Segovia, on March 5.

1959 World premiere of Tonadilla, for two guitars, by the duo Presti-Lagoya, at the Opera of Lille, France on November 9.
