Today, October 29th, 2019.
The performance will feature a dramatic narration, videos of Rodrigo (including a glimpse of how he wrote music using a braille machine or dictating to a copyist), and a program that includes “Dos esbozos” for violin and piano, “Cinco piezas infantiles” for two pianos, and “Ausencias de Dulcinea” for five voices and piano, among others.
The lecture was written by Paul Sánchez and Michael O’Brien, and directed by Todd McNerney, and the all-Rodrigo recital will be performed by Paul Sánchez and Cahill Smith, piano; Lee-Chin Siow, violin; Amanda Castellone, Saundra DeAthos-Meers, Kim Powell, Kayleen Sánchez and David Templeton, voice.
Mr. O’Brien said that this multifaceted concert provides a good opportunity to examine Rodrigo’s cultural significance and musical influence. It’s also a chance to admire Rodrigo’s compositional mastery and sharp musical mind.
From the Victoria and Joaquín Rodrigo Foundation, we wish to express our gratitude and best wishes for success inthis great event.
