Meets Manuel de Falla in Paris, becomes known as pianist and composer in the gala concert at the Rothschild Palace for the awarding of the "Légion de Honor" to Falla (March 14th). The Parisian music critic Robert Brussel wrote: "On avait pu admirer à la fois le jeu éclatant du pianiste et la manière éblouissante dont il écrit pour le piano". "We admired both the brilliant piano performance of Joaquín Rodrigo and the dazzling way in which he composes for the piano." |
